We are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer for our Legal and Compliance Team.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
· Creation and implementation of compliance policies across APS Group;
· Monitors and verifies compliance with internal policies, laws, rules, national and international standards in the compliance area;
· Manages all compliance areas significant to the company, including Anti-Money Loundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), Personal Data protection, Conflicts of Interests, Anti-Bribery and policies required by the clients;
· Ensures that activities of APS companies are compliant with regulatory requirements (financial markets, investments) and bond undertakings;
· Ensures and provides assistance with compliance supervision of existing subsidiaries and with implementation of compliance measures in newly established group entities /new countries;
· Performs compliance controls according to internal control system;
· Assists inspections from regulators and investors as well as internal audits;
· Analyses specific legislation, applicable in the compliance area and elaborates, maintains and implements internal procedures in the compliance department;
· Verifies compliance with laws, rules, national and international standards in the compliance area in order to identify, assess, monitor and report risks;
· Ensures the activity regarding requests received from state authorities;
· Investigates, reviews and resolves suspicious transactions, reports to state authority;
· Performs the due diligence on new clients, requests the KYC information, documentation, review and verification of received documentation;
· Receives complaints from employees regarding potential anomaly indicators, express opinions in writing and provides advisory opinion regarding the compliance area;
· Supervises communication with data subjects and ensures addressing all queries from them - right to be forgotten, right to access the personal data…);
· Creation and implementation of data processing/sharing agreements and other legal documents (GDPR notifications, consents of employees, etc.);
· Supervises preparation of the annual /quarterly compliance reports;
· Reviews and comments on internal policies, documents and agreements from compliance perspective; Reviews company transactions from compliance perspective;
· Promotes the standards and responsibilities of Company employees regarding the compliance area;
· Provides the necessary support for Company employees regarding compliance issues;
· Delivers trainings on compliance matters and ensures that employees are regularly trained;
· Leads and cooperates with the compliance staff in the APS subsidiaries;
· Monitors implementation of compliance requirements in APS subsidiaries;
· Performs any other duties related to the compliance activity which are not in contradiction with the national laws in place;
REQUIREMENTS:
· Law degree
· Fluent English
· Experience at senior legal position
· Solid experience in compliance area, preferably from /advising to/ financial institution or investment firm
· Talent to navigate non-lawyers in compliance matters
· Ability to independently and assertively address compliance issues in go-ahead business environment
· Strong personal integrity and ability to address challenging situations and issues in a professional and effective manner
· Business oriented and organized team player
· Leadership and presentation skills
· Experience with World Check software or similar AML software tools is an advantage
